Allowing Health

Perhaps not the healthiest choice for The Raptor, but I don’t know what red velociraptors eat

In every moment, our bodies are working hard to keep us healthy. They never quit, never take a holiday and usually never give up.

Tirelessly and methodically, they work to fix the things that need fixing and to get to a state of balance.

Then we come along and mess it all up.

There are so many temptations in the world that it’s difficult to choose wisely. Food is so delicious and so tempting and often, so not good for us. Everything we decide to allow into our mouths is a choice, but sometimes it’s not that easy. We often feel powerless to resist.

I think it’s important to have a healthy attitude towards food and not feel the need to label things as good and bad. Telling yourself that what you are about to eat isn’t going to make you feel good later sets an intention that might not be necessary. It does provide an opportunity to stop and think about why you are about to do something that you intellectually know isn’t a good idea.

That’s what it boils down to – pausing for a moment and becoming aware of our actions. Most of the things we do fall under the umbrella of habits, with no thought going into the action itself and its subsequent consequences.

There are a few laws in life that are worth trying to understand. The law of gravity keeps you firmly planted where you are, but it can also cause you to injure yourself if you fall off of something. The law of supply and demand is what drives the economy and can help you build a successful business or figure out ways to save money.

The law of attraction has accumulated too much new-age hype around it, but it does exist. Like attracts like, and what vibrates at a similar level of energy will come together. It’s why you always get what you are thinking about, whether it is what you want or not.

Then there is the law of cause and effect. Something happens, and then there is a result. That’s it. You put your hand on a hot stove, your skin burns. You stay up too late, then you are groggy the next day. Cause = effect.

Eat a bunch of food that is too high in sugar and devoid of nutrients and you may be pushing your body too far. Like an elastic band, it can be stretched to a certain tension and then something breaks. This is the beginning of dis-ease.

You have control over everything you allow inside. All that you consume is turned into the self that you carry around. I eat an apple and it turns into the female body that I am housed in. If you are a man, then an apple will turn into a male body. It’s quite a wonderful sort of alchemy.

If you are building your body with what you are eating, then what is the quality of the components you are adding to your house?

Again, it’s not helpful to label things as good or bad. They just are. Your body will use what it can and hopefully eliminate the rest, but sometimes the task becomes too great. We can go too far and overwhelm the system and that can lead to problems.

You know what makes you feel good and what doesn’t. Our cravings often are counterproductive, in that we crave the very things that are harming us the most. It is an addiction in every sense of the word.

You can never achieve your best self if your body isn’t able to keep up with you. If you wish to live a high-octane life, then reach for the fuel that will best support you.

Do the body right. Nothing feels as good as feeling good.
